etude bubble hair color

Today i was curious about the much talked about etude house bubble hair color, so i went out to to sm north edsa branch and bought one to be the verdict myself.
After going around the store i finally made it to the shelf of hair products and browsed on the variety of hair color shades available. there were about less than 6 boxes stock for each color, i was expecting more. the shades of the hair colors are black, dark brown, natural brown, mocha pink, sweet orange, wine red and bronze blonde. wine red and natural brown were out of stock.
Got the mocha pink color was actually aiming on the wine red but since it was not available i settled for something similar to red which was pink hehe i was too scared to try the orange it looked too bright.

the shade on the box was promising and i wanted my hair to be as light as it showed.
the price is 395 pesos.

this is whats included in the box

procedure:
open the pump bottle, snap open the pink sachet of liquid and pour it to the bottle. slowly&gently mix the bottle they said not to shake hard ,so i gave it a gentle shake for about 2 minutes. then remove the lock on the neck of the bottle to make it pump out bubbles.

bubbles come out when pumped.

put the bubbles on the hair until fully covered till the ends. just like when you shampoo hair in the shower except this is out of the shower hehe i massaged it a little after so that the roots would be covered too. i haven't colored my hair for about a year so my roots were fully half way natural color already.
reminder: do this on dry hair.

the box came with a free plastic cover to put on your shoulder instead of a towel. i then used it to wrap on my hair.
leave it to settle for 30- minutes. i left mine for about an hour since i wanted to be sure the color sticks to every strand.
and i noticed while washing, my hair became sooooooo hard it was like super stiff and tangled. after putting the treatment conditioner included in the box my hair became the opposite super soft! don't shampoo hair after just run it through the shower with water.

after an hour.... tada! my roots were definitely colored!
as for the rest of my hair i was a little bit disappointed to see the color, it didn't change at all. i'm not sure if it was because my hair was colored before (i meant the ends were grown out hair with color) that's why the newly grown hair was the only ones to catch color. it wasn't as light as the one on the box either nor was is any close to it. sad sad.

this was my hair color before i colored it don't ask what shade it is cause even i don't know lol it's been a year since i had it colored.
my roots were darker since it's been months (nearly a year) of no hair coloring retouch.

The verdict?....well i was disappointed. it wasn't the shade i was expecting. but the whole process was ok, it didn't smell as bad as the ones used in saloons and it did come with a lot more freebies in the box unlike other hair color brands. oh yeah and it didn't leave a stain on my skin i had a small one on my arm but it was easily removed with water unlike Revlon& L'Oreal hair colors when i get stained on my ear or neck it would take 2 days before it totally disappeared. i always DIY my hair since i was in college it's easy breezy.

i am guessing etude bubble hair color is best if used on virgin hair? like uncolored ones. since mine has had coloring before maybe that's why the hair color didn't tint that much.
Will try maybe Revlon ash blonde next month, ill let my roots grow a little bit first.. really want a lighter shade for 2013.

hope you like my review on the product!
thanks for reading!
xoxo
